Home Ed: An Investigative Podcast

An investigative podcast about homeschooling in America and the culture wars that are shaping it

When a West Virginia state legislator introduced a bill that he thought could help protect children at risk of abuse, he never dreamed there would be national backlash.

But Shawn Fluarty unwittingly found himself up against a powerful advocacy group with interests far beyond his individual bill.

This podcast will introduce you to the Home School Legal Defense Association, which advocates for homeschooling as part of a larger conservative agenda.

You’ll also hear from a 30-year-old woman who was homeschooled as she recounts how HSLDA’s  mission shaped her family’s life by tapping into a culture war over politics and religion—and how she learned to change her mind.
